Pumpkin Picking

By: Robin Ruerhwein

Pumpkin Picking is one of my favorite fall activities. My family and I made our annual trek over over to CN Smith Farm in East Bridgewater last week. We like it there because there, you can take a hayride out to the pumpkin patch to pick out the perfect pumpkin. It’s all part of the experience. I’ve done it every single year since my oldest son was born and will continue to go there for many, many more years.

As soon as the hayride pulled up to the pumpkin patch, my boys were off to find the perfect pumpkin.

This year the hayride cost $3.50 per person.  Then the pumpkin costs per pound on top of it (we got a nice big 20 pounder), but the experience was well worth it as far as I’m concerned.  With the exception of some minor crankies from my four-year-old, we all had a really nice time.

Hayrides run on the weekends, but the farm stand in which you can purchase pumpkins, cider, apples and a whole bunch of other goodies is open seven days a week.

Do you go pumpkin picking? If so, where do you go?
