Will you be searching through the Black Friday store flyers this year? I know I will be browsing. An iPad, a tv, and an X-box are some of the great deals I bought on Black Friday in the past. Most people think of purchasing electronics on Black Friday, but there are other categories you should consider as well. And most of these deals you can purchase online without needing to leave your house!
Entertainment Deals
Last year, I bought ½ price tickets for the Nutcracker Boston Ballet on Black Friday. If there is a concert or theater production you are considering, check out the venue’s deals on Black Friday. You may also want to sign up for the company’s email list to make sure you find out about any promotions ahead of time.
Travel Deals
Many airline and hotels offer Black Friday discounts. Last year, Beaches Resorts offered an Xbox One when you purchased a vacation on Black Friday. And Expedia offered up to 75% off select hotels last year.
Airlines also offered good deals last year, such as Virgin Airlines offering one way flights for $38. Most of the information isn’t released until the day of the sale, so again, you should sign up for emails from either hotel or airlines to be informed about promotions or check the day of Black Friday (some sales even go live at midnight).
Fitness Deals
Usually, most of the fitness deals are in January; but last year, there were some available on Black Friday. At my local YMCA, they offered $20 Y Bucks—a gift card that can be used at the YMCA—for every $50 gift card purchased. Make sure to ask your local fitness center about any Black Friday deals offered.
The Beach Body brand, such as P90x, which rarely has sales, also offered discounts on a lot of their products on Black Friday.
Furniture Deals
Many furniture stores also offer discounts, which could be significant considering furniture is expensive. Stores like Ikea, Macy’s, LazyBoy and Jordan’s Furniture all offer door busters and other Black Friday Deals so be sure to check the store flyers.
