Disney Bound

By: Tanya Pimental

Last fall we were so blessed to take a big family trip to Disney World with my husband’s family.  There were 13 of us in total.  It changed me as a person and I will fully admit that I am now a Disney Addict. Seeing the magic play out in my children really left an impression on me.  So when our plans to sell our home and move changed, we decided to splurge and head back to visit the mouse again this fall.

We are just a few weeks from our return trip and I am busting at the seams.  The kids have no idea.  They talk about when they go back to Disney one day all the time, but they have no idea how soon that is really going to happen.  The plan is to wake them up bright and early and announce we are heading to the airport.  My hope is to capture it on video to share online after we return.

Preparing for a trip like this is part of the fun for me.  Since we did this so recently, I have a lot of the fun craft ideas put together already that I can reuse.  My favorite thing is a custom autograph book.  There are tons online to give you ideas if you are looking to make your own. I like a digital book filed with pages made in Photoshop of the characters we hope to seek out on our trip.

Last year we did a countdown before we left to get excited.  Since this time things are a surprise, I didn’t reprint this to use. If you make one, I suggest printing it at Costoc or Walmart in a poster size and then cutting out mickey head circles with double sided tape each day.  I loved looking at this every day.

The Disney store is so fun to visit when we are at the mall.  It reminds us of our trip and gives me ideas on things to surprise them with for holidays and in this case a return trip.  Taking advantage of their awesome deals and sales will really save me from buying souvenirs there.  Leaving a goodie on their pillows really adds to the magic.  I’ll wake them up and have them put on their new tshirts!

I have lots of things planned for this trip and promise a review with some tips and tricks for making the most of your trip. Disney is affordable and will create a lifetime of memories.  As I mentioned before, I never thought we’d be returning so soon, but there really is something magical in the air there.  It must have brainwashed me.

  1. OMG! I love it! I hope to someday do this with our kids, and when I do I’m sure I’ll be hitting you up for lots of advice!

  2. Aww, that’s really too bad. But it’s a good thing that she’s lannrieg to look at her injury as a challenge and not as a hindrance to the other things she can do in her young life. I know you’re guiding her all through this.
