As 2013 draws to an end, the most wonderful time of the year begins! This holiday season, challenge your family to branch out and try new events in our area. Here are 5 local holiday events that you and your kids will love:
- Help abandoned animals while having fun at the Animal Protection Center of Southeastern Massachusetts Bake Sale on December 14th and 15th. The bake sale will last from noon to 4 pm at the APCSM Adoption Center at 1300 West Elm St. Extension. All proceeds will go directly to providing care to local animals!
- Introduce your kids to a wonderful holiday tradition: take them to Albano Ballet Company’s production of The Nutcracker at the Mohegan Sun Arena. A live orchestra and chorale will accompany the Albano Ballet Company dancers during performances, which will be held December 13th at 7 pm and December 14th at 2 pm. Get your tickets through Ticketmaster or at the Mohegan Sun Box Office so your family can experience the magic of the Nutcracker!
- The Canton Choral Society presents its 10th Annual Winter Holiday Concert on Sunday, December 15th at 3 pm. The concert, which features festive music and a sing-along, will be held in the United Church of Christ Sanctuary at 1541 Washington Street in Canton.
- The Middleborough Holiday Gift Shoppe will be open every weekend until December 22nd from 9am – 5pm on Saturdays and from 9:30am -2pm on Sundays. The shop, which is located at 50 Center Street in Middleborough, features different vendors each week.
- Looking for a safe way for the whole family to celebrate New Year’s Eve? Check out the New Year’s Eve Family Skate Party at Zapustas Arena (240 North Street) in Randolph on December 31st. In addition to ice-skating, there will be games, crafts, and activities for all ages from 2pm – 5pm!
