Art can be a wonderfully therapeutic activity to enjoy when staying at home to social distance during COVID-19. It can also provide some safe social time.
How?
By Zooming lessons together!
My daughter and I Zoomed with friends while doing a free art tutorial I saw on Facebook, and it was so much fun! We each did our own painting, chatting as we did so, and sharing our results with one another onscreen. If you’d like to do similarly, here are six free sources for art online that my kids and I have liked.
- Artist at Heart Virtual Art
- Jan Brett’ drawing videos
- You ARE an Artist (Chalk Pastel Art)
- Pen and Blade (my son likes his fantasy drawing)
- Farjana Drawing Academy
- Rapid Fire Art
None require super special supplies and all have inspired plenty of hours of creativity in our home! During this time of extra stressors, I highly encourage you and yours to decompress by creating your own artworks using a tutorial from one of these links or just your own imagination! No need to be an art master, just master the art of destressing with creativity!
Happy creating! And, do be sure to let us know if you find other wonderful free art resources!
