Combatting Anxiety in Young Adults

By: Sarah Gonet, Vice President of Development, BAMSI

Anxiety is a common mental health condition that affects people of all ages, including young adults. In fact, according to the National Institute of Mental Health, approximately 31% of adults in the United States will experience an anxiety disorder at some point in their lives. While anxiety can be extremely difficult to live with, there are many ways to manage and combat it.

One effective strategy in combatting anxiety is to become a part of social groups or communities. All Things Possible is a Young Adult Access Center for those ages 16 to 26 who are looking for a safe and inclusive place to socialize. A program of BAMSI, which has been driving change and creating equal opportunities through a comprehensive array of programs and services for nearly 50 years, All Things Possible is a safe and welcoming place for young adults of all backgrounds to come together and socialize.

An array of resources and services are available at the Drop-In Center, which is open Tuesday – Friday from 2pm to 7pm; Saturday from 12pm to 5pm, and by appointment. Youth are invited to engage in everything from workshops, baking classes, video gaming, movie nights, and much more.

All Things Possible uses a trauma-informed, person-centered approach.
